Shanghai Corporate Pavilion

Dubbed the "Dream Cube", Shanghai Corporate Pavilion of World Expo 2010 is co-financed and constructed by nearly 40 large and medium-sized Chinese state-owned enterprises under the State-owned Asset Supervision and Administration Commission of Shanghai Municipal Government (SASAC), managed for the most part by Shanghai Guo Sheng Group. The "Dream Cube" is an eco-environmental architecture which features smart technology, good mood and interactive experiences. The style, design, environmental applications, fabrication, entertainment experience and public participation of the architecture will magically reveal the brilliant future of Shanghai.

The "Dream Cube" covers an area of about 4,000 square meters and it is located at the Corporate Pavilion Area. Guided by the concept of “My City, our Dreams”, the "Dream Cube" brings together well-known designers, architects, writers, scholars, visual artists, energy and technology professionals both from home and abroad, who will boldly try out new technology and use new materials to show the new point of view of urban life.

The architectural design of the pavilion is inspired by an idea advocated by a traditional Chinese romantic philosophical story, “In Dream with The Butterflies”. The pavilion is divided into four areas: a queuing area, a transition area, the road to Shanghai and the journey into Shanghai’s future. The visitors, during a 20-minute integrated experience with stunning visual and audio effects, will be stimulated to reflect on the responsibilities that they as individuals and the Shanghai corporate community as a whole should shoulder in building a bright future for the city.
