Czech Pavilion - Fruits of Civilization

The theme of the Czech Republic's pavilion "FRUITS OF CIVILIZATION" will offer an opportunity to introduce the country as a tourist destination and an interesting place for investment. The goal of the Czech Republic's participation is to present the country as a prosperous and attractive country in the heart of Europe, which with its unique way contributes to the creation and maintaining of civilization values. In contrast with many other countries, the Czech people have managed to keep the fruits of diverse cultures, sharing cultural development in their cities. The strong suit of the Czech Republic remains its high urbanistic level, accented over the past 20 years by the Czech Republic’s growth. The positive presentation of the cultural and economic aspects of life in the Czech Republic represents a significant opportunity to express the ability of the country to exist in harmony not only with each other, but also with those in neighbouring countries.

Visitors to the Czech pavilion in the World EXPO in Shanghai will find themselves in a fictitious city, "where one can feel well and safe, in a city of activity, charms, production, travelling, observing and listening, where any passer-by can take an active part." This concept was used by the development team under the guidance of M.. Jaromír Švarc. The main theme of the 2010 World Expo "Better City - Better Life" as well as the theme of the national participation under "Fruits of Civilization," has inspired the creators of this winning design to create an imaginary urbanized countryside. The pavilion and the exposition design is based in urban structures which will be briefly depicted in caricature on the facades and within the exposition.
