Iceland Pavilion - “Pure Energy – Healthy Living”
The concept for the outside of the Icelandic pavilion is an ice cube that is made of backlit printed fabric. The abstracted ice pattern refers to the country’s name in Chinese, 冰岛 Bing Dao, meaning "Ice" + "island".
Inside the pavilion there is another cube made of projection screen, using 8 high-definition video projectors that will show 10-12 minutes video on all walls and ceiling.

The video will have an original soundtrack and will demonstrate how natural clean water, hot and cold, links together the untouched nature and urban life of the Icelandic people. EXPO visitors in Shanghai will get a brief visit to Iceland and discover a poetic nation living harmoniously with the forces of nature.
The atmosphere inside the pavilion will be cooled down to Icelandic summer heat, 21-22°C and dehumidified to about HUM 50%. To complete the experience the filtered air is scented with the aroma of Icelandic arctic flora.
The Icelandic pavilion will offer a peaceful oasis in the summer heat of Shanghai City; where visitors can relax and enjoy this unique, multi sensory experience.
