World Expo 2010 Shanghai

ShanghaiViewThe next World Expo will take place in Shanghai, China, from the 1st of May 2010 until the 31st of October 2010. The 6-month milestone event will showcase the most innovative urban concepts through the ‘Better City, Better Life’ theme, with all eyes focusing on the Chinese/Asian way of sustainable urban development.

Located in the heart of the new city, on both side of the HuangPu River, the Expo will gather 50 international organisations and more than 170 countries, with around 40 European countries (and 25 EU cities) represented and all concerned about a multicultural and sustainable World.

In fact, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo should be a large scale, global, non-commercial Expo aiming to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, science and technology, to allow exhibitors to display their achievements and improve international relationships.

Cities will be able to do this though exhibits that showcase their unique initiatives on various urban questions related to the quality of life, sustainable development, protection of historical heritage and technological innovations in cities.
